As part of its ongoing growth and development strategy, Highland Defence has welcomed Declan O’Flanaghan to the team.

Declan brings a wealth of experience and practical knowledge to the business, having served in the Met police for 32 years, 20 of which were as a firearms officer.

During his career, he was SCO19’s ARV National Firearms Instructor, MPS Rifle Co-ordinator and Operational Firearms Commander.

He played a pivotal role in the royal protection teams, aviation security as well as operation involvement in five presidential visits, the 2012 London Olympics and numerous other high-profile events.

Declan will be working closely with Scott Thorne in developing the Highland Defence business.

Highland’s CEO John Bright said: “It’s wonderful and exciting to have someone of Declan’s calibre join the team and the Highland Outdoors family.
