Do you think you can shoot through a 3/8” hole? If you’re up for the challenge, have a go at the Bell Target in Hall 2.

Bell Target is a sport that started in the midlands around 1905 promoted and supported by Lord Baden Powel of the Scout movement. Run in local pubs, there were 1600 teams competing at its height. Bell Target Shooting was re-launched in Lincolnshire at the White Hart, Lissington in 2017. It entails hitting a five-inch circular plate with a pellet fired from a .177 air rifle from eighteen feet. In the centre of the plate (five feet from the floor) is a 3/8” hole, you will get a bonus if you get a pellet through the hole and it rings the bell. Hence the name Bell Target Shooting!

The main aims of launching the Bell Target were to attract non shooters into the sport, make shooting more visible, and give existing shooters something to do on those dark winter evenings.

The Lincolnshire Bell Target League is going from strength to strength, with ten venues in the process of hosting the sport over a mixture of pubs, clubs and village halls.

The sport is open to all, regardless of age or ability no experience is necessary and equipment is provided.
