BASC members will be given complimentary entry to the Northern Shooting Show for the next three years after the UK’s largest shooting organisation teamed up with one of the UK’s premier shooting shows.
BASC members will also benefit from special rates for their guests at the event, which will be held on May 7th and 8th this year at the Yorkshire Event Centre, Harrogate.
Organisers say the move is expected to catapult the show to a leading position in the UK and the announcement comes shortly after it was confirmed that Stable Events, organisers of The Game Fair and GWCT Scottish Game Fair, acquired the Northern Shooting Show for an undisclosed sum last month.
James Gower, managing director of Stable Events, said: “With hard working families having to make difficult decisions about their spending, this offer to BASC members shows courage and commitment to the industry.
“We expect attendance to now rocket by thousands this year which will be great for exhibitors and BASC visitors will be able to enjoy a great day out and spend their money on their sport rather than entry tickets.”
BASC chief executive Ian Bell said: “BASC is dedicated to the promotion of all shooting sports, increasing participation and creating easy access for all of our members. Events such as this provide a fantastic platform from which we can shout about the benefits of shooting, enable consultation and engage with members and stakeholders.”
A similar scheme has already helped to attract hundreds of thousands of visitors to the Game Fair.
Tom Cosby of Charles Lancaster Gunmakers said: “Time and again, BASC and Stable Events have shown a commitment to our industry that we do not see anywhere else. We are confident the Northern Shooting Show will be a commercial success for our business and we cannot wait to participate for the first time this May.”
Echoing this support, Denzil Lee from Sunglasses for Sport said: “At other shows a family may have spent £100 before they have set foot through the gate, this opportunity will allow thousands to experience the show and the industry will benefit from that I have no doubt. We can’t wait to attend.”
